Fiction & Nonfiction Literary Translation from English into Italian

fiction & nonfiction literary translation

“Without translation, I would be limited to the borders of my own country. The translator introduces me to the world.” - Italo Calvino

Reading books in translation is such a natural process in our globalized world that we barely notice it. How limited would our knowledge be if we had access only to information originally written in our own language?!

If you have a story to share with the world, translation is the way to go. It's a delicate process, a carefully balanced act in which the text has to stay faithful to the original while sounding natural in the target language at the same time. A good translation doesn't read like a translation, it reads like a new original in the target language.

Achieving this fluency requires a lot of practice, an excellent knowledge of the source language, English in this case, and full mastery of the target language, Italian. After specializing in literary translation at university, I kept honing my skills with very targeted courses and constant writing practice to be able to offer you a result that will charm, touch, sadden or scare your readers, depending on the emotions you want to convey.

If you have knowledge to share with the world - be it an essay, a manual, a paper, a guide - terminology, clarity and flow are the main things we need to pay attention to. First, I'll make sure that the subject-matter is something I can tackle and then I'll collaborate with you to make sure that every detail of your work is properly addressed.
